I have been using these leads for about 4 months now. I have two Dogo Argentinos. One of them is a very big "puller", the other is quite calm. Just to give you an idea of the durability of these leads, Bruno (the "puller") runs a minimum of 30 miles a week with my girlfriend while she is training to run marathons. I also have a mushing harness, that Bruno wears while I am on a bike, and of course I use the lead from Raw Dog Leather. So as you can see, the durability is certainly there. From the quality leather that is used, to the awesome clasps, I can see this lead being used for many, many years to come. Not to sound corny, but I like these clasps better then just about any clasp that I have ever used on any lead. Very easy to open, and truly are made for wear and tear!

Of course, if you are like me, you want more then just a long lasting durable lead. You will want a nice looking product, which I feel that they have as well. The assortment of colors are a big plus.

Besides all of those great things mentioned, one of my favorite features of the lead is the suede liner that is put on the inside of the handle loop. Jill (my girlfriend) really enjoys this while running, as do I. The suede really is a nice touch, and makes it much easier on the hands, especially when Jill is running.

The pull tabs are perfect. I actually prefer the one w/o the clasp by the knot. I love the simple fringe past the knot. When I hold it, if just feels more natural & comfortable. Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE the pull tab. It is fabulous! We were at the agility practice field today from 6:30-9:30 with about 30 other dogs & their handlers. I was able to run Detroit off lead w/the pull tab attached to his collar. Detroit, like Simon, is easily distracted. Today, Detroit ran off course 3x. I was able to call him back the first and third time, but the 2nd time, he ran over to the small dog set & started jumping around a schnauzer. It was very easy to grab the pull tab & regain his attention. My hand did not slip at all - regardless where I held it. I love it. It just felt natural in my hand. When I've had to pull Detroit with my other pull tabs: a nylon one & a cotton rope one, I always had sore hands afterwards.

One Year Later...

So sorry this has taken me forever to get these photos to you. I LOVE The pull tabs & use them often.

Detroit is the agility dog! He has true working dog attributes and lives to please. IT was a good thing that he had the pull tab on tonight. This dog is so confident & love agility so much that he thinks it is a race to get on & off of the dog walk. W/the pull tab, I was able to grab on & slow him down.

I LOVE practice using your pull tabs. The braided leather is soft on the hands & easy to grab a hold of. I have used other pull tabs before made out of nylon, which burns the hand when trying to grab a 95 lb dog running at full speed. Cotton - which stretches & frays & slips & I have also used a short leather lead - unbraided. That one did not burn my hand, but it was hard to hold onto due to it slipping. Your pull tabs have been by far, the best I've used. I've been using it for over a year now & have had minimal stretching of the leather. It still looks & feels as great as it did the first day. The clasp is also holding up very well & I now fully trust that it will not come undone.

I have had the great pleasure of finding myself as a new owner of one Raw Dog Leather black leather lead w/Bullsnap. THANK YOU.! and THANK YOU..!

Although I'm sure she's capable of attaching decorative accessories or complex stitching, this lead is EXCATLY what I like: SIMPLE supple black leather, Simple stitching, Simply clean rivetting, great Deer suede lining for the Simple loop, and my most appreciated facet of the lead... Simply the Bullsnap.

Mixie was professional in her reply to a special request of making a lead with a Bullsnap, and was skilled in her prompt execution of said request. The Bullsnap should be standard issue. I can't possibly imagine a scenario in which this snap could open or break.

I am happy to have a Raw Dog Leather lead, but more happy that the lady of whom hand-makes their product is doing so because she wants to create something better, something beyond the norm.

The only drawback I have found in the Bullsnap would be remedied simply by utilizing a smaller size (if available). The snap's weight WILL ROTATE PRONGS. On any other collar, it is PERFECT. On the pinch, you must simply be vigilant in rotating the collar constantly back to its appropriate relation.

Just wanted to let you know that I was able to pick up the leads on my way to work this morning ....... and they are GORGEOUS!!! Really, Kate. You do beautiful work. I can't wait to show my husband and the dogs - not to mention Heinrich's (the 10yr old Doberman I told you about) parents. The pink is actually my very favorite shade of pink - my thermos and tea pot are that same shade and I'm sure other things too that I'm too excited to think about right now. I wanted to tell you that I received my new leash in the mail and that I absolutely love it! The main thing I was looking for in a leash was the unique clasp that yours has. I walk my three beagles on a homemade coupler and the clip type clasp that most leashes come with was coming open by itself once in a while and I was so afraid my dogs would get loose and possibly run into the street after a bunny or squirrel. But the clasp you use will not come undone by itself. But, I love the overall quality of your leash as well - not just the clasp. Even though it's a brand new leash - it already feels nice and soft in my hand. It's not a stiff new leash that needs to be broken in. I have very small hands and I have a hard time breaking in larger size new leashes because they don't fit well in my grip, but your leash is just perfect. I will definitely hang on to your information for further orders as I need more equipment. Plus, I work part-time as a dog trainer and I will definitely recommend your products to my clients. So, I just wanted to tell you how happy I am with my new leash and thank you for putting out such a great product!
